Apparently, CV and Resume plays a vital role in describing about one self’s career information concisely in the maze of applying for job opportunities. However, we often can’t decipher what’s a CV and Resume although we frequently use CV and Resume interchangeably. Let’s superficially perceive the variances! 

 

Basically, a CV is a document that consists of a detailed wrap-up of academic and professional information along with publications, journals, conferences, research, presentations, awards, and accolades widely used in academic, research and scientific disciplines. While both use reverse-chronological order, a Resume can be prepared in functional format as well. A CV has no constraint on number of pages, it can be longer and convey information in-depth and in detail. On the other hand, a Resume generally is much shorter, briefer and usually limited to one or two pages. 

 

Nonetheless, a CV offers more flexibility in personalization and it’s much easier and quicker to make changes for each job application whereas a Resume requires more diligence as it is customized for specific job application.
